I'm happiest in my kitchen. I've been baking bread since the beginning of time, and baking sourdough bread since the beginning of the pandemic. Like you, perhaps, I despair sometimes about the state of the planet. What I'm proposing is a fundraiser of sorts, and I'd like your input!
I'd like to offer bread baking lessons in exchange for donations to organizations who are doing the work in the world that needs to be done. Sandy Hook Promise, perhaps, to lobby for gun reform. World Central Kitchen, feeding people impacted by the war in Ukraine.
Would this interest you? Is there another format that makes more sense to you? Would you like to buy an expensive fresh loaf of sourdough once a week instead? The occasional loaf? I'll supply the ingredients and the labor, and all proceeds would go to one of the above charities, or one that you & I agreed on. Of course, you can make your own donations, and I hope you will. But this way, you also get bread!
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
With metta for all,
I'll buy one Laura. And see how it goes. Maybe I would get interested in baking it....Let me know how much and when to pick it up! No rush of course.
PS I was so excited to see someone other than me post in the forum!!!
Cool! Let's chat about what you'd like! Thanks for responding!
