Bridging Separations: A Look at Racism

Many feelings arise when we turn our hearts and minds toward the deeply entrenched impact of racism in our personal lives and in the world.   In the Buddha’s teaching on interdependence and interconnectedness of all life, we know that none of us escape the conditioning of past events and circumstances generated out of hatred and ignorance.

Our mindfulness practice is an essential platform to support our community as we embark upon deeper conversations about what indeed separates us from our own hearts and the hearts of others.

The work of seeking to understand, confront, and dismantle racism—on the inside and in the world—is an important facet of spiritual practice.

Tonight’s talk will be offered by IMCC’s  Committee for Bridging Separations,    Rumi Moinudinnum, Bev Wann, Lucia King, Kristina Weaver, and Allie Rudolph
