The Charlottesville Clergy Collective invites you to join us in remembrance of August 11-12, 2017, with prayer, song, and conversation.

We’re hosting “Difficult Conversations: Religion and Race,” an online panel discussion addressing the history of white religious institutions as contributors to racial oppression and guiding us towards conversation about repair.

Sunday, August 8th, 5:00 to 6:30 PM   Online via Zoom or livestream on the CCC Facebook page

We are excited to welcome Dr. Anthea Butler, University of Pennsylvania Associate Professor of Religious Studies & Africana Studies, to speak about her new book, White Evangelical Racism: The Politics of Morality in America. Dr. Butler will then join in a panel discussion moderated by Devin Coles, CCC member and pastor of Union Baptist Church, together with Gayle Jessup White, Public Relations & Community Engagement Officer at Monticello / Thomas Jefferson Foundation, and Tricia Johnson, Director of the Fluvanna County Historical Society.
