"The purpose of life is to be happy." --- The Dalai Lama
The Buddha taught about states of happiness: those that are dependent on conditions and those that are not dependent on any conditions at all. Our personal practices invite us each to cultivate all of these: to open to all forms of abiding happiness that nourish and support wholesome living. We are asked to cultivate happiness within the unique truths of our own lives, our own histories and conditioning and our own current circumstances, strengths and human limitations.
This evening’s talk, the third in a series, will explore the spiritual practice of allowing and deepening various wholesome aspects of sensory ease and happiness, including contact with the natural world, with a healthy body and with a mature and healthy and integrated mind.
