Ox-herding in Charlottesville
When
11 Dec 2012
7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Location
JABA 674 Hillsdale Dr. Cville 22901
Our Tuesday night meeting will be led tonight by Susan Stone. We will begin with a 40-minute guided meditation followed by a talk titled, "Ox-herding in Charlottesville." As we engage in spiritual practice, it is helpful to understand the shape of the journey. Each major inner spiritual tradition, has its own map or description of what that journey looks like. Tonight we will focus on a time-honored Zen map, embodied in ancient pictures called the "Ox-herding" pictures. We will explore each of the 10 stages portrayed and investigate how these are relevant to our lives today as we ox-herd in Charlottesville. This meeting is appropriate for people experienced in spiritual practice as well as for newcomers. All are welcome.
