We are meeting in person at 717 Rugby Rd in the Unitarian Universalist sanctuary and on Zoom.
Socially Engaged Buddhist Practice “Engaged Buddhism is, simply, Buddhism applied in our daily lives. If it’s not engaged, it can’t be called Buddhism.” Thich Nhat Hanh
Through our spiritual practice, we develop insight into the interconnected nature of all being and we cultivate qualities of the mind, heart and ethical behavior. In unsettled times, however, we can be uncertain about how – or even if – our personal spiritual practices might call for outward social action. In this evening’s offering, four Charlottesville Buddhist teachers will, together, offer thoughts about how to rest in spiritual practice as we offer both understanding and skillful responses to daily challenges in ourselves and in our troubled world. Led by Sharon Beckman-Brindley, with David Seido Auble, Zen Buddhist Chaplain Pam Marraccini, ordained as a Core Member of the Thich Nhat Hahn Order of Interbeing.
