Three Portals to Joy and Freedom
:
Part III
With Pat Coffey
The Buddha spoke of the importance of understanding things just as they are as the platform for joy and freedom.
He described three characteristics of this human existence that are shared by all humans....the existence of unsatisfactoriness...the fundamental impermanence of all things and the selflessness of all creation. He taught that a deep understanding of these characteristics of life ...i.e. the "nature of nature" literally opened the door to freedom and happiness .....that learning to flow with nature and not against it creates a beautiful ease of living.
This week in the last of this series we will explore with humor and direct experience the most enigmatic concept of all Buddhist philosophy......
the nature of self.....or not-self.
Please join us in this investigation
of self
......and how this understanding can transform your life.
IMCC meets every Tuesday evening for a period of guided meditation and a talk by one of IMCC's experienced meditation teachers. The program is designed to be friendly and of interest to people with no meditation experience as well as more advanced practitioners.
