Expanding Light Sangha
Expanding Light Sangha (ELS) has been a part of IMCC since January 2021.
Our mission is to prioritize young adult and middle-aged practitioners by leaning into the voices and energy of an age group that is less visible in many sanghas. We meet in a circular format with collaborative leadership and member-led practice, organized by a lead facilitator.
While we do sit in meditation together, our approach highlights group discussion of the teachings and their application in our lives. We learn from a variety of Buddhist lineages and strive to cultivate a diverse and inclusive community of practitioners. We strive to cultivate a diverse and inclusive community of practitioners.
Newcomers are a gift to our community. If you are newer to meditation, know that guidance will be provided and you are invited to make any adjustments you need during meditation (e.g. open your eyes, walk around, etc).We hope you will consider joining us to explore the Dharma's relevance in our lives.
We meet the second Sunday of each month in the Unitarian Universalist Congregation Parlor Room at 717 Rugby Road. Check back here for updates and topics.
Being together with whatever is here is our practice.
